All of the wonderful pupils of SHNS have been busy working from home. We have been very creative writing our names in 3D form, investigating the Ancient Egyptian style of hieroglyphics and even turning potatoes into our favourite characters. Keep up the great work Guys!
Ms Crowdle’s class have been working super hard on their beautiful Christmas Art! Look at how it turned out. It is amazing! Here is a small sample of it.

We are having lots of fun in Seomra Croí. One of the boys made these gorgeous wooden snowmen with the help of his Daddy for us to decorate. First we painted them. Then we got some fabric, glitter and sequins to decorate them with. Didn’t they turn out lovely?
Junior Infants were very busy creating some artwork from one of their favourite books ‘Owl Babies’. We used pom poms on pegs to print the body of the owl and then used paper to add their beaks, eyes and feet 🦉 We had great fun! Don’t they look great hanging up outside out classroom?
Over the last number of weeks 5th class have been reading the novel Wonder written by R.J. Palacio. The children really enjoyed reading this book as it has many different emotions and a variety of characters. Wonder is an excellent book for children to read as it teaches them about the importance of kindness and friendship. The children completed many activities while reading this
Junior and Senior Infants have been having lots of fun learning about the jungle. We’ve enjoyed reading lots of jungle themed stories and exploring the different jungle animals and their habitats. Look at our lovely art! We created beautiful jungle sunsets by blending red, orange and yellow paint together. Then we cut out different animal silhouettes and stuck them on. We had great fun
On Friday the 14th of June 2019 we were very proud to receive our Hurling 365 Flag here at SHNS. We had the huge honor of having our flag presented to us by our past pupil and Wexford hurling star James Breen. For the past four years the children at SHNS have been coming to school early twice a week to practice their hurling
Junior Infants have been having lots of fun learning about different types of homes. We read the story of The Three Little pigs and really enjoyed trying out our lovely oil pastels and water colours in Art to create some pictures from the story. Check out their fantastic work!
The Junior Infants have had a great first term in school. They have been learning lots of new things, and are enjoying all aspects of school. We love Aistear time. This term our topics have been The Hospital, The Dentist, The farm in Autumn and Halloween, and we have enjoyed learning about them.
